SNotes ("we", "us") operates PDF to Text at pdf.snotes.co. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We collect only what is necessary to provide the Service.
2. Data We Collect
- Account information — email address and authentication data, managed by Clerk. We do not store your password.
- Uploaded files — PDF files you submit for conversion. These are stored temporarily and deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Extracted text — the text output produced from your PDFs, retained in your account history.
- Usage data — credit balance, conversion history, upload timestamps, and page counts, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Payment data — processed exclusively by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or payment details.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To perform PDF conversions you request.
- To manage your credit balance and process payments.
- To detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent usage.
- To send operational emails (e.g. account alerts) when necessary.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
- Clerk — authentication and user management.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Vercel — frontend hosting.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
Each service operates under its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
5. Data Retention
- PDF files: deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Extracted text: retained until you delete your account.
- Account and usage data: retained for as long as your account is active.
- Upload attempt logs: retained for 30 days for abuse prevention.
6. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. PDF files are stored on private server volumes with access restricted to the application. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made.
