Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using PDF to Text ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

PDF to Text is a document conversion service that extracts machine-readable text from native PDF files while preserving document structure, reading order, and paragraph boundaries. The Service does not support scanned or image-only PDFs.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. We use Clerk for authentication and do not store your password directly.

4. Credits and Payments

Access to conversions requires credits. Credits are purchased through Stripe and consumed based on the page count of each PDF you convert.

  • All credit purchases are final and non-refundable.
  • Credits are only deducted upon successful completion of a conversion job.
  • Failed conversions automatically release any reserved credits back to your balance.
  • Unused credits do not expire.
  • A small number of free credits are provided daily to all users.

5. File Storage and Retention

Uploaded PDF files are stored temporarily and automatically deleted after 24 hours. Extracted text is retained in your account history indefinitely. You are responsible for saving any output you need beyond this period.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload files you do not have the rights to process.
  • Attempt to abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service.
  • Use automated scripts to repeatedly upload files without genuine conversion intent.
  • Circumvent usage limits or rate limits imposed by the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the documents you upload and the extracted text produced from them. We do not claim any ownership over your content. You grant us a limited license to process your files solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SNotes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or loss of business.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will note the revision date at the top of this page.
